Buying a Used Car Is Risky Without a Proper Check
Most sellers are not going to tell you about hidden problems. These are the situations buyers run into when they skip a professional inspection.
Hidden engine or transmission damage
A car can look and drive fine on a short test drive and still have serious internal damage that costs thousands to fix. A diagnostic scan catches fault codes the seller may not mention.
Electrical problems that are hard to spot
Faulty wiring, bad sensors, and failing modules rarely show up on a visual walk-around. Our technicians run a full electrical system check so nothing is missed.
Paying too much for a car that needs work
Knowing what repairs a car needs gives you real numbers to negotiate with. Without that information, you have no leverage and no protection.
Buying someone else's problem
Some vehicles are sold precisely because the owner knows costly repairs are coming. A thorough inspection before you buy puts you on equal footing.

What Our Pre-Purchase Inspection Covers
Jordan Auto Repairs has been serving vehicle owners in Jacksonville for years. Our experienced local repair team knows where problems hide and what to look for before a buyer signs anything.
When you bring a car to us before purchasing, we treat it the same way we would treat any vehicle a long-term customer drives in. We connect our diagnostic equipment to the vehicle's computer to read every stored and pending fault code. We also inspect the engine, brakes, suspension, electrical system, and fluid levels by hand.
At the end of the inspection, you receive a printed report that lists every issue we found along with its severity. You leave knowing exactly what the car needs and roughly what those repairs cost. That information belongs to you, whether you decide to buy the car or not.
If you choose to have any repairs done with us after your purchase, our Up to 2-Year Warranty on Parts & Labor covers that work. Customers who approve repairs in the shop also receive a free diagnostic on those specific items. We believe you should never feel like you are guessing when it comes to your vehicle.
- Full OBD scan for stored and pending fault codes
- Brake, suspension, and fluid inspection included
- Printed report you keep regardless of your decision
- Diagnostic fee applies if repairs are not done with us
- Free diagnostic on approved in-shop repairs
How the Inspection Works, Step by Step
The process is straightforward. Bring the car to our shop and we handle the rest. Here is what happens from the moment you arrive.
-
01
Drop off the vehicle
Bring the car you are considering buying to our Jacksonville shop. Let us know you want a pre-purchase inspection and we will get it checked in right away.
-
02
We run the full diagnostic and physical check
Our technicians connect to the vehicle's computer system and read all fault codes. They also physically inspect the brakes, suspension, engine bay, fluids, and electrical components.
-
03
You receive your written report
We walk you through everything we found in plain language. You get a printed report listing each issue and its severity. No jargon, no pressure, just the facts.
-
04
You decide what to do next
The report is yours to keep. Use it to negotiate the price, ask the seller to fix items, or walk away from the deal. If you buy the car and want repairs done here, we are ready to help.
Our work
Inside Our Shop
Take a look at the equipment and environment where your inspection takes place. We keep a clean, organized shop because that is how we work.
Why us
What the Experience Is Like for You
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave with your report, here is what you can expect as a customer.
Straight answers from the start
You tell us what car you are looking at and we tell you what to watch for. No runaround, no upselling on services you did not ask about.
Plain-language explanation of every finding
We do not hand you a list of codes and walk away. A technician goes through each item with you so you understand what it means and how serious it is.
A report you can take anywhere
Your printed inspection report is yours to keep. Show it to the seller, a family member, or another shop. We have nothing to hide and neither should the car.
No pressure on what to do next
Our job is to give you accurate information. What you do with it is your decision. We are here if you need repairs, but there is no obligation to use us.
Fast turnaround so you do not lose the deal
Most inspections are completed the same day. You will not be left waiting days for results while the seller moves on to another buyer.
Why Our Technicians Are Qualified to Do This
A pre-purchase inspection is only as good as the people running it. Here is what backs up the work we do.
Experienced Local Repair Team Our team has diagnosed and repaired a wide range of makes and models across Jacksonville. That depth of experience means we recognize problems that a less seasoned technician might miss.
Professional-grade diagnostic equipment
We use the same type of scan tools that dealerships use. These tools read every module in the vehicle, not just the engine, giving us a complete picture of the car's condition.
Electrical system diagnostic capability
Many shops skip a thorough electrical check during a pre-purchase inspection. Our technicians are trained to test wiring, modules, and sensors as part of the standard process.
Up to 2-Year Warranty on Parts & Labor for Any Repairs We Perform
If you buy the car and bring it back for repairs, our Up to 2-Year Warranty on Parts & Labor applies. That commitment reflects how confident we are in the quality of our work.
What Our Clients Say
4.4 from 8 Google reviews
I remember back in august 2023 I went on a solo trip to FL and rented a car that was having trouble with the air tire pressure light on the dashboard. I tried to explain my best to the man that helped me since english isn't my first language and I was so nervous. He solved it in less than 10mins and didnt even charged me a cent. The humanity, humbleness and gentleness prevailed. amazing service 100% recommended.
